browser based presentation frameworks
Maybe it is time to replace my loved Eric Meyer's #S5 with something new?

Sozi is a small program that can play animated presentations. Unlike in most presentation applications, a Sozi document is not organized as a slideshow, but rather as a poster where the content of your presentation can be freely laid out. On Debian GNU/Linux Squeeze it was very easy to follow the installation instructions. :-)

I really wanted to try it at work on Windows, but I found it very difficult to install all the dependencies on Windows, especially python-lxml, and without it Sozi will not work. :-/

To use Inkscape with Sozi is fun! :-)

For the tech crowd here you could easily use Inkscape to draw a network diagram using Cisco icons if you like, and then animate it with Sozi.

You could also animate a cartoon page. If you don't want to draw in Inkscape, you could scan it, import it to Inkscape, add frames and guide the user to the next frame with Sozi.

I tried a combination of hand drawing, perspective drawing tool in Inkscape, some screenshots, and and then a big frame around everything in the end to show "The Big Picture" - it was quite unlike PowerPoint. To make things even better, you can just upload it to a webserver as a single SVG file and point your browser at it. :-)
