When you present information to someone that challenges their paradigm they struggle to listen to your ideas with an open mind. Maybe if these ideas challenged one of his ideas but not many of them, he could have been a better interviewer.
I think his interuptions with irrelevant anecdotes were due to him being confronted with multiple ideas that fly in the face of the status quo and disrupted his personal beliefs. Also he just didn't understand some of what he was being told.
