in reply to DW Innovation • • •I thought the dedicated science name was #agnotology
It would be nice to promote this name: so as people get aware
Disinformers are so skilled that it needs a new field of science to study them & their techniques
"Agnotology" was introduced by Robert N. Proctor
His research was on how industries, namely the tobacco industry, deliberately spread ignorance about the health risks of smoking to mislead the public and create doubt among scientists & policymakers

P.S.: It seems that the term actually goes back to ἀγνῶσις -> agnō̂sis -> without knowledge (or insight)

I came across the term Agnotology while being interested in the #climatescam #climatedenier trend among #farright followers, which seems to go really often hand and hand
I know more about the perpective of: "Merchants of Doubt" by N. Oreskes
