But Jolla does not fulfil their promise to refund the second half of the tablet contributions. They tacitly buried the question.
in reply to Carol Chen

Same thing again and again with the jolla tablet refund. Move on
in reply to Carol Chen

Say what you want, communication from Jolla is beyond description.
in reply to Carol Chen

Jolla did make an announcement at the beginning of the year regarding the second half of the tablet contributions. Why should they need to repeat itself ?
Especially on the show floor of MWC
in reply to Carol Chen

In that case I apologize. Could you point me to the URL of that announcement? Because me it didn't reach.

Good to read some news. I was somewhat disconnected lastly, grasping news from time to time, worrying a bit how would the wind turn. Jolla and SailfishOS are still my favourites in mobiles 😀
in reply to Carol Chen

End of Q2 would be July, right? Looking forward to buying a Sony phone then ;)
in reply to Carol Chen

I've never been a big fan of Sony phones but if they have official support for Sailfish OS especially with camera drivers, I'll get one too 😀
in reply to Carol Chen

I had to think back to the MWC where there was a panel with Mark Shuttleworth and Marc Dillon and Mitchell Baker, Shuttleworth said that there is no place for sailfishOS but that firefoxOS and UbuntuTouch had a bright future to share...
in reply to Carol Chen

@Carol Chen in regards to the camera. SailfishOS will be using the AOSP drivers I assume. They tend to be far more limited than the drivers Sony uses with their Android ROMs and drm. So it will be one of the best cameras for SailfishOS users. But it won't take as good photos and videos as the Sony Android version of the phone.

I expect non working prediction autofocus and no 5 axis image stabilization via software. Those are some highlight features however for those.
in reply to Carol Chen

@Leszek: wouldn't be too sure about that since jolla is taking part in the sonys open device programm they might share the drivers too.
in reply to Carol Chen

The same as AOSP Images are part of that open device program.
in reply to Carol Chen

Sure would install sailfish on my xperia z5 compact in a heartbeat!
