more a "shrug" it's not fantastic, it's not terrible either, it just is.
in reply to Evan Prodromou

admittedly in my early morning sleepiness I was thinking of the Fediverse logo 🤷🏻‍♀️
in reply to Evan Prodromou

Doh. I was thinking the pentagram fedi logo instead of ActivityPub when I voted and I can't change my vote on Mastodon. The ActivityPub logo is a strong yes from me.
in reply to Evan Prodromou

The style, especially the colors are somewhat dated (late 90's-early 2000's), but the arrows themselves work nicely and the font is passable.
in reply to Evan Prodromou

The pink? is too florescent. The logo (A and P stylized) is nice though.
in reply to Evan Prodromou

Hmm. I like the colours. I don't like the triangles. The text is ok. I have no justifications for any of these opinions.
in reply to Evan Prodromou

It's a good logo. Sure, it's not the latest and greatest and coolest design, but it does its job fine.
It could benefit from some small tweaks, but that's all. There is no need for anything radically new.
in reply to Evan Prodromou

ouch, I should've seen the clarification before voting; like a few others I started thinking of the Fediverse logo :fedi:

I think the ActivityPub logo is cool; we should probably use it more so that more people remember it exists 😅

(my "Qualified yes" should've been a "Strong yes")

in reply to Evan Prodromou

I normally avoid reading the comments before voting so I can give a more "unbiased" vote. But maybe I should start scrolling a bit if only to avoid misunderstandings like this (I believe it's not the first time I've misvoted in one of your polls...)
in reply to Evan Prodromou

I think I'm missing the subtle difference between the meaning of putting a Fediverse logo and putting an AP logo.
Is there a need for an AP logo?
in reply to Stefan Monnier

@monnier some people consider the fediverse to be the network of all networks, not just AP.
in reply to Evan Prodromou

didn't known it until I saw it.

So brand recognition is basicly zero. You could probably even make most people believe the mastodon one is the one. Or the fediverse one.

So yes, ask who knows the logo w/o looking it up. (I have seen it countless times, but everything has a logo nowadays, so it did not stick out)

(We need to work on that I think, brand recognition of some key components)

in reply to Evan Prodromou

Honestly, I’ve come to really like it. I’m not even sure what a suitable replacement would look like.
