It would appear Verizon is having troubles today, rendering many phones with only "SOS" service.

The cell service outage appears to be more wide spread than just Verizon. Reports that T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon user are all experiencing outages now. Cell phone are stuck in SOS mode.

Yep. My phone was flipping between SOS, 0/5 bars, and 4/5 bars (my normal) for much of the morning.

Now it’s just settled on SOS.

It looked like a sim swap this morning and I appropriately freaked out; glad it wasn't, but it would be nice to have a working phone again too.

This affected me all day. I could access the web via my wifi but could not call out. I ended up using my VOIP number for some business calls. It was a clusterduck.
