Maybe this is a stretch, but I see this failure to acknowledge fault as on a continuum with the Secret Service Directors refusal to resign and the Sacklers' efforts to keep their billions despite their crimes. It's also a large part of what fuels MAGA Fascism. All ordinary people with any moral sense see this sh*t going on and they are desperate for someone to be held accountable. Demagogues like Trump exploit that. Fire and lock up a few CEOs and MAGA will lose some appeal.
This is fitting. The top topic on Xitter right now is of course the global Crowdstrike/Windows clusterfuck. But the AI summary of the discussion is hilarious, b/c it summarizes a bunch of sarcastic posts and makes it sound like a positive (or at least can-do) story.
Several individuals have recently started working at the cybersecurity firm Crowdstrike and have expressed their excitement and pride in their new roles. They have shared their experiences of pushing code to production on their first day and are looking forward to positive outcomes in their work.
Legitimately, do C-levels ever admit mistakes? I have always assumed it's in Management-101 to never do that. And at most decide to spend more time with the family, because no one can attack that out loud.
False. Supply-chain denial of service is most definitely a security incident.
"....to ensure the security and stability of CrowdStrike customers."
False. To bypass customers' (N-1) and (N-2) preferences to limit widespread crashes, CrowdStrike has been pushing changes by releasing three versions simultaneously. So, customer N-1 'stable' portion of the fleet was impacted just as much as the N-0.

as a typical dead-inside French person, these people who feel the urge of saying to everyone how amazing their workplace is (after only one day !) look soooo american 😅

Also important to note- for many their main way of communicating to their remote IT staffs, their computer network, is broken.
Including IP phone systems. Managers are probably calling support via their smart phones.

We're a great team and I'm sure that no one has really been inconvenienced.
And that the company will make good all financial losses.
