I was recently asked to be a "senior advisor" for a board to oversee the development of a technology that claims to use "quantum-AI driven cyber threat detection." I told them if they added just one more buzzword -- like "blockchain" -- to the description, then I'd consider it (no way in hell).

send them my way. 😇 I'll tell them what fucking dipshits they are for free and they'll come away thinking I paid em a compliment

As long as it will be deployed on Web 3 De-Fi IPFS protocol that routes through numerous planets across the star system.

They should also include something like probiotic.

We use quantum-AI driven cyber threat detection on the blockchain to detect threats, from cybers.

Someone's trying to win the bingo game. 😀 Might be a nice easy gig though. Every time they ask, advise them that they need to integrate $buzzword-of-the-week into it. Easy paycheck for you, you keep a bunch of developers in beer and skittles, and keeping the tech in perpetual development protects the general public from it.

What really gets my goat is that it's just bad business. I honestly think the best answer here is to sit with a blank expression and ask. so what problem does it solve for a customer? over and over until they get it

To be senior, wouldn't you need at least 8 years of experience in quantum-AI driven cyber threat detection?

What does quantum-ai run on? Self-scintillating reverse phase quartz array?

lame! You're right to reject them. If it's not "next generation" don't even consider it.
Who wants to advise people on the old stuff?

The pitch does read like something an AI would come with.

If real people, you have to wonder what they are smoking.

BTW I am not on any boards and don't want to be, thanks.

Not even for a Quantum-AI NFT cyber blockchain threat ML 10x rockstar ninja programmer?

it's never to late to learn a new active hobby. Skateboarding and surfing are both great reasons to be on a board.

And now I want to make a dystopian buzzword bingo game.

Takes all these nonsense words and distributes cards to friends, and scans press releases in a set order and see who wins first.

Hey, remember the 'information superhighway'?
