First private email: hello, can you help me use libcurl to do [bla bla bla]

Me: sure, but unless you get a support contract you need to ask the question in a public #curl forum or mailing list.

Second private email: [inserts a long detailed question]

Me: OH HUMANITY

#curl

Just reply with an invoice for 30 mins of your time having to deal with two emails 😀

Never say yes or no straight if the answer is a conditional one.
That's something I try to do when answering in client projects.

Yes, there are surprisingly many people who don't seem to grasp the concept of a conditional yes or no.
Others are just impudent and knowingly ignore your "yes, if..." In hopes you answer nonetheless.

I don't know how you put up with people. Fora (is that right plural of "Forum"), usenet news, bulletin boards etc. have convinced me over the years that the thing that sets humans apart from the animals is our sense of entitlement.
