If you had a holodeck, where would you go first? Far-away places? Legendary cultural institutions? Fantastic worlds? Or your mom's cozy little house?

Janko Roettgers wrote a nice article for @verge on the #XR tech that's about to make Trekkie dreams come true:

The University of Glasgow did a survey on #XR and cultural institutions and found out that a vast majority of the 2000+ people polled are very much aware of immersive tech. They want to see more of it at #museums, as it makes things more appealing, especially for younger audiences.

In coop with European partners, DW Innovation has been experimenting with XR in the context of cultural journalism in several R&D projects, with new proposals under review (fingers crossed).

Speaking of #XR and #immersive tech:

If you're in Brussels this week, make sure to stop by at #Stereopsia.

Four #SERMAS sub-projects (all of them contributors to our open-source XR/AI toolkit) are part of the EU village:

⭐ 3DforXR
⭐ Langswitch
⭐ Prinia
⭐ XR Shield

Exhibitions that recycle classic paintings and combine them with other media assets and historical context make great show cases for #XR and #immersive #video technology.

But is this #art? And does it matter?

Recommended by our colleagues in XReco:

https://xrmust.com is a (relatively) new English and French language blog dedicated to immersive design and storytelling.

There's a focus on interviews (with key creators), XR events, and avant-garde projects.

Worth your time.

The RayBan meta glasses have been hyped for their elegance and impressive technical features – and criticized for being a rather useless, expensive, privacy-invading toy. Whatever you may think of them, also consider this review by a blind woman:
