I have a mailbox with over a million eMails. It is not big in storage size, only in amount of items. It's interesting that Thunderbird works so much better with IMAP accessing M$ Exchange Server than accessing it with M$ Outlook and it's proprietary protocol. My observations are not sufficient to reveal if it is the protocol or the client.
