I've seen some other numbers that indicated more Brazilians coming here. But the bubble I used to interact in Brazil when I lived there, some (data) journalists, access to information and even some open source and data privacy folks, seem pretty active on Bluesky. That's the main reason of my disappointment.

I am glad the new director of the organization I founded 11 years ago, @okbr, has decided also to create a profile in the fediverse. I hope they will be active and not only replicate content.

I don't live in Brazil for more than 8 years, so I am afraid to have strong opinions, and I am now just a foreigner (still an immigrant latino) living in the comfort of Europe. @josemurilo might have a better understanding of the reasons behind most people in Brazil have migrated from x to Bluesky.

At #FediForum, @ben called out that he linked to the @ProPublica donation drive on #Mastodon, and that yielded more donations than any other social media promotion on other platforms by the official account.

Huge.

We've seen hints of how the #Fediverse can have a positive impact on newsrooms, but this is the most tangible proof I've personally seen so far.

Is an ID change also a `Move` but under the same domain? Can #Mastodon, #Pixelfed and others handle that, even if the URL stays the same?

hab gestern auf dem @berlinfediday den vortrag von @millerntorpirat gesehen, auf dem er erklärt, wie viel arbeit es dem #ÖRR macht, auch das #fediverse zu "bespielen"...

aber ist das nicht genau der falsche ansatz? das ist das gleiche prinzip wie wir schon immer mit social media umgegangen sind: crossposting.

speziell aufbereitete inhalte, nur für social media.

das fediverse bietet ja aber genau den vorteil mit seiner platform/cms/... direkt teil des netzwerks zu sein!

kennt jemand von euch eine einfache (zumindest für die Kollegys einfach zu bedienende) Möglichkeit, Raum- und Ressourcenreservierungen (Fachräume, etc.) fürs Kollegium online zu verwalten? Bisher hatten wir eine MRBS-Installation auf unserem Webserver, aber die doppelte Benutzerverwaltung und der Bruch Richtung ByCS/mebis war einfach zu unpraktisch.

im fediverse gibt es bubbles von #grün #links #gutmeschen #technik affinen und leute mit ausergewöhnlichen hobbys.

otto normal findet hier auch nicht statt. normalos haben den begriff meist noch nie gehört. gibt ja nicht mal ein allgemein genutztes logo um es nach aussen darzustellen 😩​

so einfach ist das. da hilft auch kein jammern.
fangt an und bringt eure community ins fediverse oder zu #mastodon bis die kritische masse erreicht ist.
