Ich bin nicht bei #Mastodon und mir stehen bei #Friendica zwei Möglichkeiten offen, einen Post zu teilen: Den Weg via #ActivityPub und den alten zu #Diaspora kompatiblen Weg. Meisstens wähle ich den zweiten, um die dortigen User*innen dort nicht auszuschliessen.

Bei beiden wird der/die Autor*in genannt, aber möglicherweise nicht bei Mastodon.

Please remember that Mastodon doesn't have a marketing team or budget. Whatever media coverage Mastodon gets is from inbound interest from journalists. The growth of the platform has been predominantly through word of mouth. If you want the fediverse to grow, tell your friends.

im fediverse gibt es bubbles von #grün #links #gutmeschen #technik affinen und leute mit ausergewöhnlichen hobbys.

otto normal findet hier auch nicht statt. normalos haben den begriff meist noch nie gehört. gibt ja nicht mal ein allgemein genutztes logo um es nach aussen darzustellen 😩​

so einfach ist das. da hilft auch kein jammern.
fangt an und bringt eure community ins fediverse oder zu #mastodon bis die kritische masse erreicht ist.

Just starting to wrap my head around the Fediverse and ActivityPub (and I like what I'm learning and discovering), but now here comes Nostr. For a regular user who has no deep technical knowledge, I can only hope they're interoperable. I think people will reach the fatigue of constantly setting up shop on every new technology that comes up.

To me the ultimate interoperability is if we could move around with our content (not just the follow lists). That kind of portability and freedom. Is that even possible? Too much to ask?

It would also be nice to not be forced by Nextcloud onto a centralized, proprietary, monopoly surveillance platform to see them.

Peertube is a thing. So is Pixelfed. Heck, even on Mastodon, short videos are a thing.
