browser based presentation frameworks
Maybe it is time to replace my loved Eric Meyer's #S5 with something new?
Sozi is a small program that can play animated presentations. Unlike in most presentation applications, a Sozi document is not organized as a slideshow, but rather as a poster where the content of your presentation can be freely laid out. Playing such a presentation consists in a series of translations, zooms and rotations that allow to focus on th...
impress.js - It's a presentation framework based on the power of CSS3 transforms and transitions in modern browsers and inspired by the idea behind prezi.com.

sudo apt-get install inkscape python-gtk2 python-lxml
then start Inkscape to have it create
.config/inkscape/extensions
in your /home/username and close Inkscape.
Unzip sozi in
.config/inkscape/extensions
then start Inkscape again, and follow the tutorial.
Basically, what you do is draw things, add rectangles around each of them, then select a rectangle with the arrow, click Sozi in the Extensions menu and hit the + button to make the selected rectangle the first frame, close, repeat selection of rectangles and then save. Important - you must select Inkscape SVG. Now you can try File - Open and select your SVG in Firefox. Click the drawing, and you will move to the next and so on.

I really wanted to try it at work on Windows, but I found it very difficult to install all the dependencies on Windows, especially python-lxml, and without it Sozi will not work.
To use Inkscape with Sozi is fun!
For the tech crowd here you could easily use Inkscape to draw a network diagram using Cisco icons if you like, and then animate it with Sozi.
You could also animate a cartoon page. If you don't want to draw in Inkscape, you could scan it, import it to Inkscape, add frames and guide the user to the next frame with Sozi.
I tried a combination of hand drawing, perspective drawing tool in Inkscape, some screenshots, and and then a big frame around everything in the end to show "The Big Picture" - it was quite unlike PowerPoint. To make things even better, you can just upload it to a webserver as a single SVG file and point your browser at it.
